Our Little Princess

Ava is 14 months old and has rightfully earned the name Princess. I can't believe how different it is to raise little boys and and little girls. Owen was so easy going and easy to figure out from the beginning very busy but very easy to deal with. Our little princess is a different story she is one high maintenance, demanding little girl and has been since birth. She is exactly what I was afraid of when I was pregnant and worried about how to be a mother to a little girl. Don't get me wrong I love Ava more than you can ever imagine. I just can't believe how she can be so strong willed and stubborn at such a young age. (I'm talking since birth here) For those of you who have not seen Ava lately she has her own way of getting around. She doesn't crawl, she doesn't walk on her feet, she gets around by walking on her knees. She is very fast too. I have never seen a child ever do this and I worked in a child care center from high school til the day before Owen was born, plus all my years of babysitting before I worked in a child care center. I'm not quite sure why she won't just walk she has great balance and does walk around furniture and can stand without assistance for over a minute but when she has to get some where she walks on her knees. She does this screeching thing when she needs something which would be fine if you knew what she wanted and it didn't go on for ever. She has gotten to the point now that she will sit in front of the refrigerator when she needs a drink and stand my the pantry when she is hungry so that really helps out a lot. Oh, and she can be such a stinker to her brother who loves her very much. Owen can be playing with his toys and of course what ever he has she needs, and she doesn't give up easily. Owen can find or make her something that is the same or similar but that never works. She needs the one thing that Owen has in his hand. Like I said she is lucky Owen loves her and is very patient with her. Ava is starting to use some words. It is so neat to hear her say words. (Owen only used 10 words till he was over 2 years old) some of her words are Daddy, Mommy, Hi, say cheese, and what's that. You know she may be demanding and high maintenance but I couldn't imagine life without her. She is truly her Daddy's little princess and it is wonderful to see Luke and her together. The way he is with her is completely different then how he is with Owen.

Finally Friday

Well I decided to start my own Blog! I have had an interest in doing so for a few months and the last time I said something to Luke about it he told me to start one so here it goes. I am very excited that today is finally Friday. Luke was gone for work over night in the Duluth area. Owen can't wait for him to get home because they are going to make a rocket ship together. All Owen has been talking about since last Saturday from the time he opens his eyes in the morning to the time I tuck him in at night is this rocket ship him and his Daddy are going to build. Owen got the idea from his favorite show This Old House. Yes you read that right our little boy who just turned three less than a month ago his favorite show is This Old House. I think it is so funny that our TV is not on all day long and Owen never ask to watch it but every night he asks if This Old House will be on. It is normally on at 6:00pm so from 6-7 Owen doesn't move from the couch and is unavailable to talk to. WOW if he isn't exactly like his father! This picture is of Owen eating popcorn the way is "Big Guy" aka Daddy does.
