Sleeping

After I laid Ava down for her nap I got Owen ready for his and I decided I was going to take a nap with him too. After about an hour and half snooze I woke up and had a perfect view of Owen's face. I laid there next to him for a long time just watching him sleep. He looked so sweet and peaceful. I thought it was so cute every once in a while he would move his lips in a sucking motion like a baby does when their sucking on a pacifier. I remember watching him do the same thing when he was a baby. I didn't realize that he still did that. It is crazy how fast he is growing up and he is quick to remind me of this all the time. Sometimes I wish I could just freeze time and keep him little for ever!
(I had this moment with Owen before I realized what he did in my next entry. I can't believe my little boy who was sleeping so sweetly did what he did)

Hair Cut

I guess Owen thought Ava's hair was in need of a cut because I noticed after she woke up from her nap that she had chunks of hair missing in several spots on her cute little head. I'm not sure how I missed this before laying her down for her nap. I guess I was to busy checking over the rest of the house after finding Owen with my scissors in his hand. Since Ava doesn't have a lot of hair to begin with it isn't overly noticeable but of course because I know it happened it is all I look at now. It is a good thing she is so darn cute!

I Love My Husband

Last night Owen had school. Normally Luke and I both go with him and have Ava go to the sibling care room. Well last night Luke took him by himself and I stayed home with Ava. Luke has taken Owen alone in the past a few other times as well. After they came home they were talking about all the stuff they did. Luke also reported that we were in charge of bringing chocolate ice cream to class the next time, because we are having an ice cream social for the last night of school. Well this morning when I got up I went through the stack of papers the boys brought home and was completely shocked. Evidently during parent discussion time (the last 1/2 hour of class) the parents were asked to write their child's name on a sheet of paper and then for each letter write something about them. Here is what Luke wrote for Owen.

Outgoing
Willing
Encouraging
Nice & caring

Then I looked at the rest of the stuff and in the important reminder sheet Luke even added the announcements that were talked about and the reminder to bring ice cream. After looking at all that stuff I had a huge smile on my face and was reminded one more time why it is that I love my husband as much as I do.
I then called Luke to thank him for what he did and talk about what I read and he told me that he was the only Dad there last night. He also said that he was happy our sons name wasn't Jax. Owen has a Jax in his class so I got a chuckle out of that.

kites

It was a perfect day for flying a kite, so we did!

Grapes

I am very sad.

All I want is some grapes.

But Mommy says "NO".

It is not fair Owen is eating grapes.

Mommy says they will make my tummy and bottom hurt again.
Just one would do because they are so yummy.
Allergies are horrible.

My Blankie will just have to do.

OWEN

The weather was cold and damp, but Owen insisted on playing outside this morning so I let him. As I tied his shoes I asked him if he had to go to the bathroom before he went outside of course the answer was no. In less than five minutes of being outside I turn around to see him under the pine tree with his pants pulled down and him trying to squat down. I ran to him as fast as I could and all he says to me is "I'm going poop Mama". I checked the situation out grabbed him around the stomach pants still down so his little butt was still exposed and ran into the house. As I sat him on the toilet to finish I explained to him that we need to stop playing outside and go inside to poop in the toilet. I'm positive that he thought that what he did was fine because on Easter we had to do this very thing with Owen. We were on our way to Luke's Grandparent's house and were in the middle of no where and Owen says "I got to go poop". Knowing that there was no way he could hold it another 25 miles Luke pulled over and took Owen out of sight under a pine tree so he could poop. Daddy had the same talk with Owen when he got home from work today and explained that when he went outside on Easter it was because it was an emergency. I am praying that this won't happen again. This whole toilet training can be so confusing.

Sunday

We went to the Children's Museum on Sunday. Grandma Annette and Uncle Kurt joined us for the day. We had a lot of fun playing at the Museum. We went to Uncle Kurt's house when we were all done and ate lunch and played wii. Believe it or not Grandma Annette is an excellent Boxer, but her bowling skills are another story! We all had a great day.

Hunting

Owen and Ava went hunting on Saturday. They were in search of grouse and deer. It didn't take them long to get their limit and be on their way.

Our Big Boy

Owen finally got a big boy bike. He was super excited! We went for a walk to let him try out the new wheels. He needs to do a lot of practicing before we can do a family bike ride. He struggles with watching where he is going, steering ,and randomly putting on the brakes. He ran into the stroller 3 times, hit the curb twice, fell off once, and ran over Toby's paw twice. Luke, Owen and I were all frustrated before we got home. Luke ended up carrying the bike for a little bit while Owen cried because he was so frustrated. He got over it real fast though as soon as we got home he was back on it again. He thought he was pretty cool when he showed our neighbor's his new bike!

Bike

Look at me I have a bike and a helmet just like my big brother!

pajamas

I am posting these pictures of Ava in her pajamas just because I think she looks so darn cute in them.

Better Choices

Owen, Ava and I were outside playing in the sand box today, and Ava kept dumping the sand on the grass. I told her several times that the sand had to stay in the sand box and showed her how to dump it in a bucket. She then started dumping the sand into a bucket and Owen all excited says "Ava is making better choices Mama". He was very proud of her! I just had to laugh and agree with him. Today was the first time Ava played in our sand box and she loves it!

Outside

What a beautiful day to be outside! After we got home from having lunch with Daddy we played outside til it was time for everyone to take a nap! Ava really enjoyed walking around on her knees for a while. The ground was dry enough that she didn't need to be strapped into the stroller or her swing. (Yes, she is still walking on her knees, and not her feet. I guess taking her first steps over a month ago meant nothing) I think we will all go for a walk when Daddy gets home from work.

Dentist

Owen had his first Dentist appointment this morning. He did a great job sitting in the chair while the lady cleaned and counted his teeth. Then the Dentist came in to take a peek. She said that all 20 of Owen's teeth look healthy and well taken care of. He got to pick a tooth brush and a toy as a reward for being so good. I also had a dentist appointment today as well and my teeth feel great. I too have no cavities! We talked to Daddy on the way home so Owen could tell him all about his appointment, and Owen talked him into meeting us for lunch at McDonald's. So we picked Ava up and went to meet him. Owen was pretty sad when Daddy didn't come home with us after lunch. His lip came out and the tears started falling.
