Today...

I Got Baptized!

Today after church our church had a picnic lunch to celebrate it's 80th anniversary. After lunch several people got Baptized and I was one of them. For those of you thinking weren't you already Baptized. The answer is yes I was Baptized as an infant, but it was by my parents choice to do so and not mine. My church and I believe that Baptism is something you do after you accept Jesus as your personal savior. Just like the Bible states in many different verses. In fact no where in the Bible says that infants or young children were baptized. Well I accepted Jesus into my life back when I was in high school at a church youth summer camp, and I finally decided to take the next step to be Baptized as a believer. So today in front of hundreds of people I announced that I wanted to be Baptized so that the world would know that I love Jesus. After that Pastor Bill said a prayer for me and then he dunked me! It was an amazing experience for me!

Daycation

Last week was the week we are normally on vacation at Little Boy Resort. However, we decided to cancel our trip this year when we found out that I was pregnant with Ily. It would have been a great week to be at the lake with how hot it was. Most of the week being at Little Boy Resort was on my mind. We decided that since we weren't going to be there for the week that we would spend all day Sunday there having fun as a family! Oh, and Owen actually went there on Saturday morning with Uncle Kurt and Auntie Kristin. He was super excited to spend the night at Little Boy without us. We got to the resort around 10:30. We visited with everyone for a while and then ate lunch. After lunch we headed to the resorts store for Sundaes on Sunday and they were yummy! After ice cream we left a sleeping Ezra and Ily with my Aunt Rosie while the rest of us went out on the pontoon. We rode around the lake and also stopped to swim for a while. After we got back we headed for the resorts beach to play for a while. Then we ate dinner and had root beer floats. We finished our visit with some fishing off the dock. At 8:00 we said our goodbyes and sadly got in our van and headed for home. The kids were tired from a day of fun and fell asleep shortly after we pulled out of the drive way.

The Deep Pool

As promised here are pictures of Owen jumping off the diving board! They first started by jumping off the side into the deep pool then moved onto the diving board. Some of the kids were a bit scared and hesitant about this but not Owen. He was extremely excited and overly daring when it came to jumping into the deep pool!

I think it was his second jump of the day when he decided to try and dive in like the big kids!

Getting ready...

Nope,I didn't walk to the other side of the pool to get this picture. Owen decided that it would be fun to not only jump into the pool but to ad a 360 to his jump! This boy has no fear.

Friday was his last night of swimming lessons. At the end of class he was given a sheet of paper with what was expected in order to pass level 1 and move onto level 2. Sure enough he passed. Level 2 watch out because here comes Owen!

The Mop

This might look like a picture of Ezra getting ready to mop our floor, but it is not...

It is a picture of Ezra dancing and playing his guitar to the music that was playing on the radio!

Swimming Lessons

Owen started swimming lessons on Monday. He goes for 30 minutes Monday through Friday for 2 weeks. He LOVES to go and is doing a great job. He has a smile plastered on his face for the entire 30 minutes. And when he isn't busy doing something with his teacher he is looking up into the area where I sit and gives me a thumbs up, and says things like "Hi Mom"or "did you see that" after he gets done doing something! He is extremely excited to jump off the diving board and that will happen on Wednesday. I will be there with camera in hand to get the big moment photographed! Don't worry I will definitely share those pictures with you. I love to see how much he enjoys learning how to swim and being in the water. I remember having all those same feelings about swimming lessons myself.

Children

Only by daring, risking, doing...redoing and succeeding will each child grow.

Anita Rui Olds

I saw this saying a couple months back when we took the kids to the children's Museum and loved it. The statement is so true and sadly not all parents allow their children the opportunity to live and learn in this way.

Is ILY...

going to be a Scooby fan just like her big brother?

Week

Tuesday was Luke's first day back to work since Ily was born. Not only was he back to work he had to do some traveling. So I was on my own from Tuesday morning until Thursday night. I was nervous and sad about him returning to work. I love when he is home with us and so do the kids. I like when he is able to be part of our every day routine. I wish it were possible for him to work from home or even better yet for us to win big on the lottery so that he wouldn't have to work at all. But, since we rarely buy lottery tickets the chances of us winning big are slim to none.

Tuesday morning I did my first outing with all 4 kids by myself. Nothing major we just went to the library for about an hour.

On Wednesday morning after a few errands I took the kids to the park to play. The park we went to is by a river so after the kids were tired of playing we walked on the trails along the river. The pictures in this post are from this adventure. Then after nap time on Wednesday we met my Mom at the splash park. She brought us subs from Subway for dinner. So the kids ate as fast as they could and then took off to play in the water and on the play ground. Pictures of this adventure will be in my next post.

Thursday morning we ran to get a few groceries. Then Luke arrived home just as Ava and Ezra woke up from their naps. We had dinner with Luke's family to celebrate his Aunt Theresa's Birthday. She is here visiting from Washington.

Friday mid-morning the kids and I, my friend Jenny and her kids tried to go to our favorite beach to swim for a couple hours but because of the state shut downs the beach is closed. Owen and Ava started crying as soon as they saw the big gates. So instead of hanging our at the beach Jenny and the kids came to our house to play in our tiny pool and run through the sprinkler. After dinner we spent about an hour at Luke's parents. The kids played outside and Luke tested out a gun that he has been drooling over for the last week. He is trying to convince me how he really needs to buy this gun which belongs to one of his friends. The purchase would include Luke trading one of his guns plus him paying some money. I'm not convinced that he really needs it but I think I am going to lose this battle.
