Merry Christmas...
Our family wants to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. We hope that you are able to spend time with all your loved ones. And, remember that JESUS is the reason for the season!
Happy Birthday Jesus Party...
Saturday night our church had a "Happy Birthday Jesus Party". We went and enjoyed several activities including a craft project, decorating and eating cupcakes. We watched a play put on by the kids. It was "The Christmas Story" Owen was a one of the Wise Men and Ava was a sheep! There were trivia games and our family was picked to compete in a tree decorating contest. Each team was given the same amount of decorations and the first team to finish decorating their tree won. We even won! It was a fun family night for us.
Christmas Lights
Sometimes Luke and I do some pretty fun spontaneous things. Well, Friday night was one of those moments. Luke called me from work around 1:00 to see what I was up to, and then told me about this really awesome Christmas light show that is about 2.5 to 3 hours away from our house. By the end of our conversation we decided to go see them. We invited Luke's parents to join us and we left our house at 3:30 to go and pick them up. We stopped at a subway on our way there and then off to the light show we went. Because we had never been to this light show or did much research on it we were not overly prepared for our adventure. That didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves and as we got back in the van at 8:00 we talked about what we will do different when we go next year! Oh for got to mention the lights were amazing and the only thing that could have made them better was having snow on the ground instead of brown grass.

Just 3 letters...
So the other day I was sitting at the kitchen table with Ava working on some Christmas art projects. Yes, you heard that right. ME being crafty, and doing actual construct an object art projects that need to look like the pattern when they are done. Any way, I flipped one of the finished projects over and wrote Ava's name on it and here is what I heard from her in a very disgusted voice... "That's not my name I am 4 not 3." Evidently she thought because she is 4 years old now that her name should also gain another letter. So I had to explain to her that her name would always be A-V-A with 3 letters no matter how old she got. I guess that she wasn't overly happy about only having a 3 letter name so she took it upon herself to ask her Daddy how to spell her middle name when I left the room. So now when she writes her name it is Ava Rose! However, sometimes she mixes her S and E up and spells it Roes. I love my strong willed spunky girl to pieces, she brings a smile to my face!
Children's Museum
After leaving 45 minutes later than we wanted to and almost getting our new van stuck in a too small parking ramp we made it to our destination...The Children's Museum! Auntie Rita even joined us for the day! We had a great time and we all burned off lots of energy.

Thank you Auntie Rita for spending the day with us!
